Social Engagement
We take responsibility – even beyond our core business. We’re committed nationally at the locations of our national companies, locally at the locations of our stores and at our corporate headquarters in Ingolstadt (Germany). We focus on socially relevant topics where we can contribute to enriching people’s lives with our products, approaches and expertise. Fields in which we’re active include the following:
Digital education
Digital education and access to digital infrastructure are key to participating in our digital world – in working life and in everyday life. It creates new opportunities and freedoms for individuals and is indispensable for our economy and society. To make the best possible contribution here, we as a company are currently working across countries with external experts and partners on a comprehensive concept to base our commitment on.
COVID-19 assistance
The pandemic is challenging us all and across the board. We were able to make a rapid contribution to two issues: homeschooling and the isolation of certain social groups. Across countries, we have donated products such as tablets, laptops and accessories to schools, youth or care institutions and hospitals in the short term and have also supported them in some cases with technical assistance.
Store donations
Our stores are rooted locally, and our store managers decide independently which organizations and projects to support with donations in cash and kind at their location. This has resulted in long-term partnerships, and unbureaucratic assistance can be provided in emergency situations.
Sporting and cultural commitment
Ingolstadt is our home. It is important to us to be a good neighbor to our employees and fellow citizens and to help make Ingolstadt a place worth living in. We therefore support the sports and cultural life at our headquarters in partnerships that have grown over many years and with contributions to new ideas and projects. These include our involvement with the ERC Ingolstadt, the Ingolstadt Jazz Days and the annual Taktraum Festival.
Employee donation
A cherished tradition at our headquarters in Ingolstadt is our employee donation. Every year, our colleagues donate many tens of thousands of euros to charitable organizations in our region based on employee suggestions.
